What is Passive House?

The Passive House standard

The core focus of the Passive House Standard is comfort.

The dramatic reductions in energy consumption (and consequently CO2 emissions) are essentially a side benefit of focusing on the health and wellbeing of the people using buildings.

By adopting a fabric-first approach during design, comfort is easily achieved and space heating and cooling demands drop to negligible levels.

The Passive House standard is 3 decades old and is subject to continual  improvements through research on completed projects. No other approach to delivering high performance architecture has such a strong evidential basis.
